davequestion: I have used initial caps on the term "singer" below. What do you think? I'm not sure...

kJams Pro allows you to keep track of individual Singers and the songs they like to sing. Remember: Singers are associated with venues, and each Singer must be set up in kJams Pro in order to show up in a rotation. For each Singer, kJams:

  • Keeps a list of songs that the Singer wants to sing Tonight
  • Maintains a list of Favorite songs
  • Automatically keeps a history of the songs the Singer has sung previously

To create a new Singer and immediately add songs:

  1. Find the Singer’s first song in the library.
  2. Right click and then select Add to Singer → New Singer.
  3. Name the Singer. (Be sure the name is unique.)
  4. The Singer is added and the song goes into the Singer’s Tonight list.
  5. If you are using a Mac, the new Singer is now in Target Mode, ready for additional songs. If you are using Windows, drag additional songs to the Singer.

To create a new Singer without adding songs:

  1. File → New Singer OR press the New Singer button. (Look for the plus sign with the little User icon next to it at the bottom left.)
  2. Give the Singer a unique name.
Then when you’re ready to add songs:
  3. Click the disclosure triangle next to the Singer to reveal her/his three playlists: Tonight, Favorites, and History.
  4. Browse your library or any playlists to find songs that you want to add to the Singer.
  5. Drag the songs onto the Tonight or Favorite playlist. (You can also drag the songs onto the Singer icon, which will put the songs into the Tonight playlist. This way, you don’t have to reveal the playlists first.)
  6. OR you can double click on the Singer, which puts you in Target Mode. (Macs only) Now, when you browse for songs, all you need to do is double click on the song, and it will be added to the singer’s Tonight playlist. (To exit Target Mode, double click again on the Singer.)
