Many of the options under Main Menu → Edit behave exactly as in other programs. For example, Undo reverses your last action; Select All highlights everything in the screen in which you are working.

Below are descriptions of the options that are unique to kJams or that behave somewhat differntly in kJams. An asterisk designates an option that is available only in kJams Pro.


Copy/Paste Works like other programs; can be used to copy and paste a column from a playlist into another playlist; can also be used to copy meta data from a playlist to an Excel spreadsheet
Find In Playlist Searches for a specific song, artist, or album in a playlist
Find in Library Searches the entire library for a specific song, artist, or album
Remove all Playlist Items Used only for debugging. Don't use this option unless you know what you are doing.
Remove from Library Removes all references to a song from the library and all playlists
Trash Original Files Removes all references to a song from the library and all playlists and moves all associated files to the trash

Options under Edit → Preferences

General Specifies options for playing karaoke music; these are options that you won’t want to change very often
Audio Controls the size of the cache...??? Used mostly by professionals KJs
Importing Specifies options when you are ripping CDs or importing music via Add to Library
Burning Shows information about the burner plugin; used only if you are burning CDs
Advanced Really advanced options for the super-techie
freedb Tells kJams which online databases to search for meta data; used when ripping CDs
Exporting Controls options for exporting music to another device
Tags Options that are important if you are trying to clean up your meta data
Server* This option enables the kJams server, allowing singers to browse the library and upload their playlists to kJams Pro
Store This is where your info is stored for your online music purchases
