Update

Windows Only: As of May 27, 2013, kJams has updated the Keyboard Shortcuts File for Windows to include the ability to use the right and left arrow keys while editing text, and to stop the apostrophe key from causing kJams to skip to the next song.

How to Update

To update your Keyboard Shortcuts File (KSF), you have to remove the previous installation of the KSF.

kJams copies the KSF to your preferences folder, and deploys it from there. This allows you to make changes to the KSF for your own needs if you like (for example, to add a new shortcut or modify an existing one), and when you get a new copy of kJams, you still get to use YOUR KSF. However, when there is an UPDATE to the KSF it also means you won't get the updates, because if the KSF is found in your preferences folder they will be used, taking precedent over any that come as part of kJams.

If you have made any changes to your KSF, you will have to re-make the changes after this procedure.

  1. Run kJams
  2. go to the Help menu and pick "Reveal Preferences"
  3. quit kJams
  4. in the file system window that was opened, delete the folder called "Keyboard Shortcuts.txt"
  5. run kJams

You will now have updated the KSF.
