I've ripped my whole library and am ready for shows. Thanks for the help through that process.
Can I have the screen(s) that the public sees,just show the lyrics and rotation,while I still have access on my laptop screen,to all the additional kjams info? (kj rotations,library searchs,etc.)

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I turn off mirror in system preferences,and drag the lyric display that's playing into the box with the 2 displays. This makes my tv set show nothing unless I recheck the mirror box. I'm also not sure what an extended desktop is. And the picture quality on the tv is really bad. Is that because I got a cheap converter?(videoSecu VGA2TV 81704)

Also, when the converter is plugged into my laptop, the picture on the laptop gets different looking, poorer quality.

do you mean it's black, like it's turned off? or do you see your desktop background?

no, you must leave that UN-checked, that's the whole point

what is extended desktop

it is when you are NOT mirroring. the desktop "extends" across your TWO monitor surfaces, rather than showing the same thing on both

how can you possibly know this if you have never got it working?

do you mean lower resolution? if so, you're still in Mirror mode, turn it off

I finally dragged the video screen off the bottom of my laptop screen, and it appeared on my tv monitor. I think I'm good for now. I need to learn how to add singers and set up a rotation. More of the good kind of homework.

you have to change your virtual "arrangement" to match your physical layout, then you'll have the "ah HAH!" moment...
