The method for marking songs already in the Library I was thinking of would be based on a realtime cross checking of the database using the same kind of concepts as find duplicates.
I often find myself browsing in the stores for new tracks, however, I can't remember every song I have in my library. It would be great to ba able to compare the two without having to re search every time I switch between to check if I already have a track. Even better would be something to tell me ...
I've experienced similiar problems when running an audio i/o and hard drive off the same firewire port (ie one passing through the other in series).
My solution was to move the karoake files to a usb drive.
I would find it useful if there was a simple notes windows accessible from kJams just for jotting down things, like song requests or any problem songs that need to be fixed later. Or in the case that inspired this post, redownloading store purchases that failed due to the annoying credit card ...
From a quick look at the mixers features, you can use the USB as an input. You need to select it as the output in the preferences for both programs. You might also just be able to make it the system default in APPLICATIONS-UTLITIES-AUDIO AND MIDI UTLILTY (assuming you're on a mac)

I think this looks much neater. It also allows me to do things like taking the ", The" from the end of an Artists name and putting it at ...
I do it all without an analog mixer but it ain't all that simple to set up but once it's done, it's ready to go.
Firstly, I run all my Karaoke files through this free utility http://homepage.mac.com/beryrinaldo/AudioTron/MacMP3Gain/ which basically balances out the levels of all the MP3s so ...
I tried to reassign key commands for song slipping. I want to use apple-left/right arrows. I opened and editied the keyboard.txt file as per instruction.
I've got my song levels mostly balanced using this, http://homepage.mac.com/beryrinaldo/AudioTron/MacMP3Gain/ . Some are still a little bit quieter than others and I want to use the Remember Song Volume setting to boost them. I'm not sure how to set the overall or default volume to less than ...
I still can't get this to work. Tried running as an application, as a plug-in and it ticks a way for a bit, ends and nothing has been zipped.
I tried changing the automator to 'Ask For Finder Items' and point to my folder when prompted and ran it from inside Automator. It gets to the Script ...
I tried your instructions, saving both as an app and menu plug-in but nothings happening. Ummm, help? Maybe if someone has a working version, they could attach it and share.
