Proper format for cdg burning

Post by stella »

I work with an Imac 10.6.8, I am trying to find a program where I can download music karaoke (audio and lyrics) from Utube, and convert it into a cdg format and burn it to a disc as a cdg. I am not too computer savy so it can't be complicated. Can this be done with Kjams? I have no problem downloading the music from Utube but I can't get it into the right format.  A friend does it on his PC and comes up with two files one is an mp3 file (for the audio as you know) and the other is a cdg file so the lyrics play on the screen as well as the audio. That is the program I'm looking for , but for a MAC.
I know the FLV files come up with the audio & lyrics on screen but they won't burn onto a cd as a cdg.

So the bottom line is I want to download the lyrics and music, so I have the two files, and also be able to burn them with my Mac as a cdg disc.. :?:
Thanks for your help

what you are asking for would defy the laws of physics. No such program can exist under the current laws of the universe.

What you need is the source audio and SEPARATELY the source TEXT. You can not start with a video and convert it to CDG. You see, a Video is likely to be hundreds of K per second (streaming off the disc), but a CDG is about 3Kps, there is no way any encoder, no matter how efficient, can squeeze an existing video into a stream that is 3Kps.

But if you have the source TEXT, then you can use kJams Producer to create the CDG file. Then you can burn it with kJams.
