Songs don't remain playable in library

I'm having a hard time figuring out what seems like a basic problem: I rip a CD+G disc, and the songs appear and work, but then I'll restart (or it seems even just come back the next day without restarting), and they're in the library, but they do not work. They play neither sound nor video. I re-rip them, and it's fine, and then it just stops working.

Any ideas? Thanks much.

we spent some time and figured out the problem:
the user was ripping the songs without first setting unique meta data. the new song would rip and replace the old song files, but kJams would show two different songs.

This is why i warn you to get your meta data correct before ripping.
