Can't view lyrics
Can't view lyrics
Just downloaded the software and it looks great. I'm having trouble viewing the lyrics though. I imported my itunes library, or according to the forums i created the link to my itunes music folder. And i know for a fact that i have lyrics for the majority of my songs. downloaded with get lyrical and usually displayed with gimmesometune. I'm pretty sure that the files are .txt is this the problem? if so is there a way for me to convert the files or get the software to recognize them?
Re: Can't view lyrics
umm, your iTunes library doesn't have sync'd lyrics. if it did, there would be no need for kJams, yes? even "gimmesometune" does not sync the lyrics. you have to have sync'd lyrics for kjams to display them. eg: you need an LRC file to go along with the mp3. or you can just get MP3+CDG (there are built in music stores for that)
So, you have to use special karaoke songs that come with sync'd lyrics. or sync them yourself with kJams Producer.

Re: Can't view lyrics
I just downloaded KJams; purchased a karaoke album with iTunes; and imported one of the songs into KJams. The song plays, but the lyrics do not show up in the video window. Is there anything else I need to do?
Re: Can't view lyrics
Did you miss what I said? iTunes does not sell Karaoke, they are actually lying to you. They only sell instrumentals, you have been ripped off. Please use the music stores that are built into kJams to get REAL karaoke.
The lyrics that you have for your MP3 files are NOT SYNC'd, it's like just surfing to a web site with words on them and expecting them to be synchronized to the music coming out of your speakers. It takes a human to do that and it simply hasn't been done for the songs in iTunes.
If you feel intrepid you can manually sync the lyrics yourself, song by song, using kJams Producer. Then you'll see how insanely tedious it is, and you'll see why it takes a human to do it, that it is not possible to automate the process.
