What kind of set-up do I need?

Post by djdave »

I'm a long time mac user(desk top) that does 3-5 shows a week with discs. I'm finally going to switch to a laptop since kjams appears to work great. What type of mac system would you recommend?
Thanks,
djdave

the iMac probably WILL have a drive that works, the MacBook probably will NOT, however, YMMV, it's hit or miss.

I seriously wouldn't want to cart an iMac around, but I guess you could. It's maybe a more attractive proposition if you are literally only going to be using it for shows. Or if you're a permanent install.

Yep, that's right, "HL-DT-ST" is one of the good ones. Lucky!

It does not report that it is capable, that's why kJams says "probably won't work", however it is in fact capable, that's why kJams let's you "try anyway", cuz some drives say they can't when they can!

Have you tried burning a disc?
