Hi and happy new year to all, first time on the forum and in the process of buying the pro version of kjams.
I just want some honest info about the system, I use 2 imacs for my main job of shopping mall entertainment, and I have an i book that I thought of using for kjams, I take it that is's easy to use and very few problems happen just want to know if it is worth buying.
I hope you can help thanks oh and if anyone has any helpful hints for a newbie.

ok many thanks I will try it at home first then I hope to take it to the big open world.
If you already have your karaoke files stored as mp3 + cdg pairs, or zipped files containing the mp3+cdg pair, you will be able to use kjams right away. If you have karaoke cds, you will need a drive capable of reading cd+g files to rip the files into the mac. I run my system on a MacBook, and it works great. I use MacOS 10.4. I have a Plextor external drive that I use to rip Karaoke cds to the Mac.
:)
If you want to know if it is worth buying,

Given that it's development software, it's pretty nice. Running a show is so much easier than pulling disks. Mind you, it's quite a bit of work to get everything ripped in ad I'm still fixing my catalog, but after 9 months of using kJams to run my show I can say it's yet to have a serious issue that interrupted or kept me from actually doing a show. In fact, the only major problem I've run into is that I have a couple of disks that I can't rip because they've been sabotaged by the disc manufacturer so they can't be read by computer. And that's not anything to do with kJams.
And, more importantly, my singers love it. They love that I can give them a list of everything they've ever sung, they love not having to deal with slips, and they love that it takes me all of a second or two to change their next song.
