Hi Dave,
Just wondering about two items ...
1. I've noticed that if I reinterpret names, that process seems to be duplicating my .ZIP files. Is that correct?
2. Also, I have several files that won't play the video, and I've noticed the common thread between them is that if I copy the files to another location (so as not to implode the KJ universe), and unzip them to view the contents, they unzip to a .cpgz file. Trying to reopen that file just results in another .zip file. The only way I can get the .zip to unzip properly is to use Stuffit Expander manually.
Reinterpreting names
Re: Reinterpreting names
1: no, why do you think that? when you reinterpret, kjams unzips your files, pushes the meta data into the ID3 tags of the MP3 file, then re-zips the files back up, replacing the original. no duplication happens, you're left with one zip file, just like before.
2: these are "corrupted" files that may or may not actually be corrupted. try using "BetterZip" to open them, then just go "save" and they will be re-saved in an uncorrupted way. if it doesn't work then the ONLY possible chance you have is to move them to a Windoze PC (sorry about that) and unzip them there, and then re-zip them using an open-source zipping tool. Windows (PK-Zip) has a proprietary compression built into the zip format, it says "zip" but it's actually proprietary, and there IS NO MAC SOFTWARE that can unzip them, they appear "corrupted" to kJams.. if you re-zip them using open-source software, then kJams can read them.
in some cases Stuffit Expander can unzip them, in that case you can check the preference "use Expander as a last resort", give it a try
