Ripping - support for importing titles

Is kJams missing a feature you need? Post it here! Note: if iTunes has it but kJams doesn't, it's a good bet kJams will have it, but that I just haven't gotten around to it yet. But go ahead and request it anyway!

Ripping - support for importing titles

Post by philflood »

I am finding that when I have disc that has tracks with both vocal and instrumental versions of the same song that KJPRO will often have the disc but will only show half of the tracks, resulting in an error message indicating that the disc has the wrong number of tracks. That is, the KJPRO database doesn't show the disc as having karaoke version on track 1-8, for example, with guide vocal versions on tracks 9-16. The KJPRO database only shows tracks 1-8, in that instance. Would it be possible to add a feature that allows use of the KJPRO track information for half of the disc, and then doubles that information for the other half of the disc while adding (w/vocal) to the other half. I would envision this with a checkbox option of a yes/no, use KJPRO titles for half of the disc, and, 2 vocal versions are on the a) first half, b) second half of disc.

A most excellent suggestion!! I shall add this to the list! How many of these discs do you have?

What disc ID does this happen on so i can test it?

Dave - I just got a set a Sam's Club, 4 discs - Party Tyme Karaoke Girl Pop. Disc SY1618 and disc SY1637 result in the error. The other two discs in the set are in the database at KjPro with both versions. SY1645 and SY1623. I know this has come up with I believe three other disc that I ripped recently, but I don't know which disc numbers those were.

Dave,

The new feature is working, but the track numbers are not coming in correctly. Basically, I think you left a +1 out somewhere. On a 16 disc CD, tracks 1 through 8 come in correctly, but 9-16, come in as 8 through 15, meaning two tracks show as track 8, and all of tracks 9 through 16 show their number as the actual track number -1.
