It doesn't work to have your HD disconnected and try and reinterpret names tho, I am working my way through my collections (many years worth) and it's taking me ages. My external drive makes quite a noise and I get in trouble form the other half for being noisey during 'tv time'

It's not the end of the earth tho, I just do a little each night.

Dave, can you let me know (when you get round to it) if/when it will be possible to reinterpret without needing the HD connected.

I only ask because at that point it will be real easy for me to take my mac to the bar and sit there tidying my songs in a much more civilized way, ie with a cool beer in one hand and the macbook in the other :)

Cheers buddy

i will try but i may not remember.

it's easier for 10,000 people to remember to check on me, than it is for me to remember to check on 10,000 people.

just put a watch notifier on the version history page :) it will be documented there.

presuming (!) i get my 2 bugs out of the way, your fix will be in tonight's build.

Hi, a little update on reinterpreting song names while the HD is disconnected.

This works for (S) song name, but no other options (L,R,T).

As the filename is in effect complete in the song name part of the list, could this feature be expanded to offer the same reinterpret options as when the HD is present?

Just asking :)

sorry, this is undocumented:

hold down the option key when you invoke the interpret dialog
that will enable the other things

Just a little update on this, it's better, but not perfect (If I may say so).

Firstly, when reinterpreting songnames (which are same as filenames)
example: CB8001-01_-_I'd_Rather_Ride_Around_With_You_-_McEntire,_Reba

When HD is disconnected, it reinterprets name as

Track:01
Song:_I'd_Rather_Ride_Around_With_You_
Artist:McEntire,_Reb
Album:CB8001

When connected to the HD it doesn't have any problem replacing the underscores with spaces

(it works perfectly with listings without underscores btw)

Odd

and a small side note, I set up shortcuts to select the reinterpret function, which doest now work if you have to hold down alt as well (to bring up the offline reinterpret as mentioned above)

Thanks again
Paul

Dave

My thanks again, on both points

1) underscore now reinterpret just fine with HD disconnected
2) No longer need to use key combo to bring up full reintrpret menu.

I'm a happy chappy, thanks for listening (and for fixing).

Keep up the top notch support, this is a brilliant product!
