not tech savvy but want Karaoke

Post by sap »

I have a MacBook and a Shure 8900 microphone plugged into the iMic USB Audio Capture device. I have downloaded KJams to the MacBook, and I can successfully play the "Twist & Shout" demo, but when I try to sing along with my microphone, I only hear the "Twist & Shout" instrumentals and back-up singers. I don't hear my voice amplified at all. Can anyone help?

Also, once I figure out how to get my voice to come through the speakers, is it possible with KJams to record myself singing with the Karaoke instrumentals and back-up?

Please forgive my absolute ignorance with all of this. My little girl absolutely loves to sing, and I am trying to figure out how to give her a Karaoke system (through my computer) for Christmas.

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.
Susan

go to the kJams-->preferences->audio panel and pick "Built-In Input" from the "audio input 1" popup! :D

For recording, click here.

If you need any help with the above feel free to email me directly and I'll call you.
