How to mass-rename

Post by PIC »

Hello,

I noticed that some of my files were renamed in a strange way, starting with "Karaoke-00-". I also did a mistake renaming some files, so it's all kinda messed now ...

How can I modify the metadata of each file, and ensure that the names appear correctly both in Kjams and also in the Finder ? Ideally, I would do this from the Kjams application and then the Finder file names would be modified accordingly, because, if I do it in the Finder, I'd have to do it 2x (CDG+MP3 files for each song) plus I still wouldn't know how to change the name in Kjams.

The end result I'm aiming for is that, both in Kjams and in the Finder, songs appear as "artist - song".

Thanks in advance for any tip.
Best regards,
Pierre

but you definitely do NOT want to use only artist and song name. what if you have three versions of the same song? one will overwrite the other two. so you NEED to include at LEAST the album name as well.

in fact i recommend using the "industry standard" naming convention of "Album-Track-Artist-Song".
