buying a new mac pro laptop for karaoke

Hello, i am new to playing karaoke from a laptop, i have been playing from the discs, a great friend of mine told me about your program. He had been useing a plextor px-q840u to convert his discs, which one would you recommend for your program. i should have my laptop by the end of the week, just want to get everything i may need at the same time. (excited) I know he has had his program for around a year now, like so many other things, just wondered if there was a new mouse trap. Thank You, i look forward to useding your program, i think he would vote you in for our next president.
