Dave,
I am on the verge of purchasing kjams to use for karaoke, but I have some concerns.
First, I am a mac user, and I am also predominantly a DJ, not a KJ. I use a DJ software program called "Serato Scratch Live", which is the industry gold standard for club DJ's. This program uses a separate interface that connects to my mac via USB, then through the interface to my mixer/turntables via RCA cables. There is also the possibility of running other output sources (CD players, ipod, etc.) via RCA into my mixer. However, if my mac is already connected to the interface via USB, I don't know if I'll be able to connect the mac AGAIN through the headphone jack to my mixer, and have any sound actually come out without disconnecting the USB cable. Any thoughts? Has anyone else ever asked this question?
Second, is the kjams software something that would possibly malfunction/shut down if it was being run with other large programs being run at the same time?
Next, I'm wondering how I can connect my mac to a separate monitor to display the song lyrics. I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I just thought of it!
I'd appreciate any help! I'm looking to purchase the Pro version in the next few hours!
Thanks in advance!

i'm not sure i understand what you're asking. a picture would probably help. kJams can choose which audio out device you wish to use, separate from the System audio output device. so i *think* it will do what you want.if my mac is already connected to the interface via USB, I don't know if I'll be able to connect the mac AGAIN through the headphone jack to my mixer, and have any sound actually come out without disconnecting the USB cable
no, that would be pretty useless software indeed!is the kjams software something that would possibly malfunction/shut down if it was being run with other large programs being run at the same time?

Dave,
I actually downloaded the trial version, then connected all my equipment up to test it. They indeed did work simultaneously! In case anyone else asks this question, it IS possible to do, and very easy! Just set up your regular DJ set up with Serato, then connect your laptop to a dedicated channel on your mixer using a 1/8" headphone jack-to-RCA cable. No worries!
I wanted to make sure I didn't purchase kjams if it couldn't provide me with what I wanted. It has proven that it can!
I also figured out the monitor connection using the link you provided, so THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your quick attention!
