mpeg/mp4 on kjam lite

New to the forum so pardon me please if this is an old question. Love my kjam lite (mac) for my cdg music but i thought i read that i could play mpeg/mp4 also. If possible can you show / tell me how. Otherwise just tell me i was dreaming. Currently i have to swap to vlc for the mpegs/ mp4's.

for mac, you can play MPEG2 by buying the mpeg2 plugin from apple, and then installing the free "ffmpeg". for mpeg1, just ffmpeg will do.

mp4 will "just work" on both mac and windows (it uses QuickTime)

What does the MP4 player driver disc do and how is it used? I don't know what the driver disc is and how to download music for my son on his MP3/MP4 player that he won at school. The directions that came with it are very confusing and I need help to get him his music. I know how to download music from LimeWire, but don't know what the driver disc does and how to plug the player into the computer to get the music he chooses. Please help me.
