Newbie In Need

Hello,

I just downloaded the trial version and am very excited. I am using a 13" Macbook and attempted to use the usb Mike that came with Rock Band but I am having no luck hearing myself over the speakers. I checked the audio section of preferences but still no luck. Is there another Mike that is recommended for not too much $$$. Wireless would be the best of course. I appreciate any help I can get.
