How fast is your ripping speed on LightScribe drives?

Post by dave »

Do you have one of the modern LightScribe drives? Like the "HP DVD1170e" or the "Liteon 20X"?
when you rip, show the tasks window, and it will say what the speed is: 2x? 4x? 8x? what is your X factor? i'm looking for the fastest drive to recommend!

Dave,

I have a Lacie d2 DVD RW 22X U&I with lightscribe.

I don't see anything in the task monitor other than that the disc is being copied.

In my disc activity however i see a peak performance of 13.4 MB per sec.

Avg is about 6MB per sec.

when you rip, the tasks window will show you the rip speed.

See how the "Rip" task says "(8.1x)" ? The "Encode" task goes at "(57.5x)"?
