Dave,
What is the purpose of having the LAME Encoder installed? I had an "Assert Fail" error when I was fixing some Meta Data, and the program crashed. Your suggestion was to download the encoder. But Is it possible to run Kjams without having to install this?

LAME is an MP3 encoder. if you don't care to encode to MP3 then you don't need it. If the assert fail happens when you click the menu bar, preventing you from accessing any menus (!) then i know that one way to alleviate that is to install the MP3 encoder. Sounds unrelated, but it WILL fix the problem. Then, go to preferences->importing and set your importing prefs to something that is NOT LAME, then quit, then you can delete LAME if you want, but really there's no reason to.
