External drive setup for Win7 and Mac

Post by gsteffens »

I am wanting to create an external drive setup so that I can run kjams on either my Mac or a laptop running Windows 7 without too much hassle. I've read up on the Moving instructions but they seem to be written for when two Macs are being used. Is cross-platform external drive usage supported in a similar manner? BTW, I did try to modify the location of the music folder in the latest Windows version of kjams to point to my external drive but clicking on the Change button does not provide a dialog box. Is this function not available yet or is it just an ID 10 T error behind the keyboard?

first, that's not what the button is for, learn here:

second, no it's not actually hooked up yet

sorry i wasn't clear but this "version" of kJams for windows is "testing only", i would not run shows with it. there's some stuff still buggy about it, as you've discovered.

Sorry, I may have misstated what I was doing but I'm definitely using it as stated in the What it Is section. The external drive only contains kjams created content and I was just simply trying to implement a single source of kjams music for both my Mac and Windows laptops. It seems that referencing an external drive with the Windows version will be available in the future so for now I'll just test using a copy of the kjams folder from my Mac.

Before we report issues in the Windows version is there a place that we should reference for known issues or things that are not supposed to be working yet, like that Change button?
