never EVER for ANY reason use the export function in TunePrompter.
to burn a KTP to CDG disc you have to bring the KTP file into kJams. It's not POSSIBLE to burn a *MOVIE* to CDG.
TunePrompter isn't compatible with Snow Leopard
Re: TunePrompter isn't compatible with Snow Leopard
I bring it into kjams and then export it to quicktime is what i "meant". Is this correct in order to burn to a CDG?
Re: TunePrompter isn't compatible with Snow Leopard
if you export to quicktime from kjams, you end up with a quicktime movie. a movie can not be converted to a CDG because that would defy the laws of physics. (a CDG is about 2k per second, a movie is probably 1000k per second)
to burn a cdg, make a playlist and select it and press the burn button. you're thinking too hard.

Re: TunePrompter isn't compatible with Snow Leopard
Does TunePrompter need to be installed on the computer thats playing a karaoke track thats been created using TunePrompter.
I created a karaoke track on my MacBook Pro and then tried to transfer it by dragging the track to an external hard drive and then dragging the track to a Mini Mac that I use for presenting. I noticed that when I looked at the file on the Mini Mac, it wasn't displayed as a ktp file but rather it showed as just a blank file. (like a white page)
When I tried to play the track one the Mini Mac I got a message that the audio couldn't be found.
I then went back the MacBook Pro, opened kJams and exported the track as quick time. When I tried to play the result I got just the music playing and no words.
I then copied TunePrompter to the Mini Mac and looked at the ktp file I previously transferred and the ktp label was now showing but the track still wouldn't play in kJams.
I then opened TunePrompter and then opened the ktp file but the backing music couldn't be found so I copied the mp3 to the Mini Mac , went back to TunePrompter and when prompted to find the mp3 I navigated to the track and the track then appeared in TunePrompter, I then saved the track and then imported that track into kJams and it played.
I've got three Mini Macs at different venues and I don't want to do that for the other venues.

Re: TunePrompter isn't compatible with Snow Leopard
no. only kJams is neededDoes TunePrompter need to be installed on the computer thats playing a karaoke track thats been created using TunePrompter.
the KTP file is just the text. you need the audio file too.tried to transfer it by dragging the track to an external hard drive and then dragging the track to a Mini Mac
as expectedthe audio couldn't be found
play the song in kJams first. do you see the text? good. then be sure to turn OFF "pad movie border" in the QT Export prefs. THEN export to movie. but again, you shouldn't be exporting to movie at all, IMHO, unless you are burning a DVD or transferring to an iPod.opened kJams and exported the track as quick time. When I tried to play the result I got just the music playing and no words
just to reiterate: a KTP file is JUST the text. Like, you don't play just a CDG file, you play Audio+CDG. Likewise you play Audio+KTP, if you have both files, it'll play in kJams. You don't need TunePrompter.
