kjams with linux/ubuntu 10.04

hey all, I'm trying to run kjams on a ubuntu 10.04 laptop (portability and only operating system). the install goes alright but when i try to run the program with wine 1.3.19 but nothing happens.tried using virtualbox OSE with xp but i get an error msg saying that the program is not configured properly and to try and reinstall. I haven't completely figure out linux yet but I'm learning and have come to a dead end. unfortunately I'm unable to dual boot another operating system and am unwilling to uninstall ubuntu and replace it with windows.
any ideas?

be sure to install QuickTime and the Runtimes:

thanks dave!!! Forgot about the fact that the xp in stalled is fresh and doesnt have the background workings my tower has.
kjams is working in virtualbox so far. Still a couple of things to try out yet (monitors, file directories, online stores, etc etc) but i will keep posted on progress.
