I have seen similar posts to what I need to do, but thought I would ask to make sure. I have a Mac Laptop G4 that runs kJams Pro perfectly. I named my folder kJams Music to hold all of my karaoke files, which is right next to my kJams Library folder. But I have added LOTS more karaoke songs and it will not fit on my laptops' internal drive. What I would like to do, is to take the existing songs from my laptops' internal drive and transfer to my Glyph external drive AND add all of my new song to the external Glyph as well.
I read about NOT changing anything once I have it all set up as my system will "implode" and I will change the course of the planet.
Dave, what can I do to make sure my transition to putting all of my songs on an external drive smooth?
thanks!
Jim

Well, sadly, the orbit of Jupiter has already been affected. You see, you can not name your OWN folder to "kJams Music", that name is totally reserved for kJams. I now have a great concern that Jupiter may crash into the earth.

Having said that, we luckily have a Flux Capacitor in the form of Symbolic Links. You need to rename your folder to something NOT owned by kJams, and move it all to an external drive. You can do both at the same time.
See this:

I recommend "Music Plus All Library Settings", and you're going to have to do "The Symbolic Link Trick" for your own music folder (take this opportunity to rename that folder!)

Thanks much..just making sure. I do think one of my neighbors blew up in the process. But that's OK. Gotta take one for the kJams team I say.
I will either attempt the move this weekend or over Memorial Day Weekend with a pot full of coffee, or whatever comes in a bottle.
thanks!
Jim
