Hi all, question about linking my mac to my mixer. I have a Mackie pro fx12....it has the usb port for computer connections. This is supposed to allow for "sound" to feed from your computer to the unit. I want to feed my music portion from kjams and itunes through this port. Simply hooking it up does nothing. Anyone with some experience and could guide me through this?
thanks !

Re: usb
From a quick look at the mixers features, you can use the USB as an input. You need to select it as the output in the preferences for both programs. You might also just be able to make it the system default in APPLICATIONS-UTLITIES-AUDIO AND MIDI UTLILTY (assuming you're on a mac)
Re: usb
TY. I actually figured it out last night after this post. I'm used to Mac being so user friendly that it does it all lol. Usually when a USB is introduced it read the source automatically. But, since the Mackie mixer isn't that kind of source, there really wasn't anything for it to read. After thinking about it for awhile, I re-hooked it, went to system preferences, then sound...there it was
and made it the default.
Thank you for taking the time to look into this and post! I appreciate it.
