kjams keeps freezing

Thanks in advance for any help!
I'm running kjams pro on a macbook. Last night I updated from 39 to 40. I purchased a song from one of the stores. The first song ripped and was playing I decided to purchase another. I hit stop on the song that was playing and thats when everything went to pot. The dreaded spinning wheel. I waited several minutes then force quit. Since then it is either freezing after launch or not launching at all. I have reinstalled version 39 from backup and I cannot even get that to update. I played a song and let it play all the way through and at the end kjams froze and I had to force quit. I'm lost as to what to do.

download the latest version, manually if necessary. this is fixed.

Thanks for the reply Dave. The manually downloaded version is the latest one to be freezing. I started with the auto update which had started working again the last couple of months. That froze. Pulled an older verion off backup. That froze. Downloaded manually and that froze. Kind of stuck in the ice now and not a clue what to do.

Update. Not one to give up, I just downloaded version 45 manually, installed and played a song. Song played fine. I stopped with a few seconds left to see if it would freeze again. It did not. Yay! I played another song and it started fine. I stopped it midway to see what would happen. It stopped fine and ddn't feeze. Right now everything seems to be just fine. Thanks for all you do Dave.

yeah there were like four releases yesterday so you probably weren't on r45 (which is the working version) when you tried before.
