Hi Dave,
Ran my first show using KJAMs the other night and everything went really well. Love this program !
However, during the course of the evening a singer approached me who already had 3 songs in the rotation and asked me to delete one of the songs.
My question is where do I do this? Do I go to the rotation or to the venue then singer?
Cheers,
Tez
Deleting song during show
Re: Deleting song during show
Go to the singers folder, highlight the song to be deleted and hit delete. I always ask the singer if they might want to sing the song on another night, if they do I don't delete the song but rather drag the song to the bottom of their list and when they go home or the nights over unmark the singer as here. When the singer turns up on a future night, the song will still be there for them and you've not had to find the track again. Singers like that you remember their song.
If the singer is still at the venue and their song comes up to sing just click forward to the next singer and the song they didn't want to do that night will go into their history

Re: Deleting song during show
Just a thought:
Can new songs added on a new day somehow be added ABOVE songs in the tonight list.
By this I mean, Singer A is at Venue A and has songs in Tonight. Night finishes and some songs are still in Singer A's tonight list. A week later, Singer A returns and adds songs. It would be nice if they added above the ones in the Tonight list from last week.
The reason is that I tend to like to leave songs in the list just in case they want to do them next time. But when they don't it sometimes bullockses up the works.

Re: Deleting song during show
there is no way for kJams to guess your intent. either songs are added after existing songs, or they're added before them. if you have some AI kindof method for determining when it should do what, let me know.

Re: Deleting song during show
Math
If date added is 24 hours (or some other value) later or more, add to beginning (keep songs from before at end, i.e. slip new songs into the intervening space) else add to end.
Alternately, there could be an "End Show" command, that would do all sorts of predefined clean up (determined by a set of user preferences, such as "Clear Tonight Lists," change venues, turn server on or off, save library, quit kJams, etc..)
(Or I could just change my work habits and clear tonight lists!)

hmm, that requires that i keep a "date added to playlist" field *per song, per playlist, per singer". kjams is definitely not set up to track that level of granularity.
