SEARCH WINDOW NOT RESPONDING TO ANY INFO.

hi I'm new at kjams and trying to figure things out, I am a kjams pro user so far so good but I have 1 problem going on, here it is. When i put song info. in the search window at the top right of my screen nothing happens it doesn't respond, there's no spotlight icon in my search window.
example.... I put in a song I.D.# in the search window and it does nothing. someone please help me. I'm starting to get a little angry. And by the way what is that eyeball icon. next to my search window, I thought that was my go search area, but that is not responding either. What do i do

thanks so much dave on first part of question what about the eyeball icon is that for anything or is someone watching me (just kidding). do i use that icon for anything.
