compatibility with music servers, e.g., squeezebox

Just talk about kJams stuff with each other, describe things you did that worked, talk about your setup, anything that doesn't fit into the other forums!

compatibility with music servers, e.g., squeezebox

Post by schwende »

I wonder if anyone would have some advice for me. I am interested in KJams for Karaoke in my home. I have an outstanding stereo with a Linn unidisc, which has a preamplifier with a great DAC in it. I would like to be able to run a program like KJams through a music server like the squeezebox, which has a digital out that connects to the Linn and the rest of my stereo. Does anyone know if KJams can be used with music servers this way? In connecting the KJams with the squeezebox server I need to avoid any time lags, which would make the Karaoke lyrics on the screen out of sync. Any advice would be very appreciated.

presuming your music server plays m4v files (both audio and video) then simply export the songs you wish to play to "iPod" or "AppleTV" format, then sync them to your music server in "the normal way".
