Songs in library disappears

Hi Dave,

I am a fairly new user to KJams Pro. I have added over 600 CDG + MP3 songs to the library, and have manually edited the album and song name for each. Things were going well until this evening. When I started the computer and started KJams Pro, I found the library with only 23 songs. I am very concerned that my hard work has disappeared

Some information:
Version: 1.0d48r40
OS: Mac OS X version 10.4.11

I have tried going to Advanced -> Special -> Scan "KJams Library" folder for orphaned files, but nothing seems to happen even after 10 minutes.

In the various "Singers" play lists (i.e. tonight, favorites, history), the songs are now represented with a dash (-). For example, perhaps the Samad singer Favorites used to have 19 songs. Now, 16 of them have dashes, and only 3 have the song name and artist and album appear. Those 3 are part of the 23 songs remaining in the library.

I have sent you the log file via the Help ->Send Log FIle command.

What should I do now?

this is a programmer's worst nightmare, when their program actually causes data loss. I will do everything humanly possible to get this diagnosed and fixed ASAP, but i'll need your help.

This has happened to me. Any idea on correcting this?????
If I click on the dash in a singers favorites list and get info on the solg I get this error.

Am I stuck with a reload???

Quick question - did you move the song files from where you originally had them stored? Unlike iTunes, kJams does not take a copy of the song and cdg files when you add them to the library, so if you move them, they are gone. However, the library should still be showing them as there, they'll just give you an error when you try to play them.

You might want to try scanning your system for copies of the kJams Library.xml file, or Songs.ktd file - perhaps it wandered off somewhere.
