If I highlight a song in the library or a singers folder and (by mistake) click the name again, the name wherever my curser was becomes editable i.e. a light blue colour. If I then hit the space bar without realising that the name was in editable mode (meaning to play the track) the name vanishes. There is no way to get the name back without typing the name back.
If this happens by pressing the delete and then enter the name reappears. Can you make it work like this when the space bar is hit as well.

I usually hit command-z to Undo when that happens. I think it has to be the very next action after hitting the space bar, too.

okay i've implemented that. if you type a "space" (or a dozen), it doesn't count and will be ignored.
tip: to *actually* delete a bit of meta data, enter a dash ("-") as the only character. this won't enter a dash, it will actually delete all data in that field. to enter an actual single dash, enter two dashes ("--")
