Checking singer as here

When I mark a singer as here the file name goes bold and italic but stays where it was. It doesn't go to the top.

Confirmed as stated above - also, new singers are not placed in alphabetical order until software is quit and restarted.

Have a list of 50 singers.
add a song to new singer, name new singer
Singer's name appears at top of prior list, bottom most of all new singers (regardless of alphabet)

So, let's say my list started with the name Alex.

I add Kate, list would go Kate, Alex, ....
I add Marshall, list would go Kate, Marshall, Alex, ...
I add Henry, list would go Kate, Marshall, Henry, Alex, ...

After software restart, list is put back into alphabetical order. (Alex, ..., Henry, ..., Kate, ..., Marshall, ...)

Importance - annoyance (may be worse for those with 200+ singers in their venue and lots of new singers adding each night)

Actually, it's a pretty big annoyance. I was pretty annoyed with the singers list being all over the place, not in any real order. Also, it seems if the singer logged in through the web client and set themselves up with songs for tonight, their name did move to the top of the list. Perhaps that only applied to new singers setting themselves up, not existing ones. By the end of the night, with about 20 singers, everything was so out of order that I couldn't say.
