Drag directly to folders

Is kJams missing a feature you need? Post it here! Note: if iTunes has it but kJams doesn't, it's a good bet kJams will have it, but that I just haven't gotten around to it yet. But go ahead and request it anyway!

Drag directly to folders

Post by artguy »

It would be very helpful and time saving if it were possible to rip tracks by dragging them directly from the disk track list into the folders that you want them in rather than having to drag them into the library, then search for them there to put them in the folder that you want them in.

This is, of course, one of those features that I am used to in iTunes.

Semi-easy way to get around this - if it's set in your settings, a playlist of whatever you rip is created and date/time stamped when you do the rip. You can easily drag from this playlist to other folders, without having to hunt the library. (Actually, I know this happens when you "add to library"/import from other files, not 100% sure about actual CDG ripping, but I would assume it's the same)

I actually find this is one feature that's apparently missing in iTunes - if I import/rip several CDs in a day, the only way to look at them individually is to use the Recently Added smart playlist, or create my own from it, and Recently Added just shows all the songs imported in a day, while Dave's time stamped lists show the results of each individual import.

Thanks again for this wonderful feature!
