Keeps Playing Next Song

Hi. I'm kinda new to KJams Lite, so pardon me if this has already been asked and answered. My problem is, every time the current song ends, KJams tries to play the next song in the list. . . or goes back to the top of the list and plays the first song again. Is there any way to disable this feature? When the current song is over, I'd just like KJams to sit there and wait for me to choose the next song to play. Thanks for your help and keep on singing!

In the preferences for KJams, click GENERAL, then click PAUSE BETWEEN TRACKS.

There's also a secret pref to make it literally STOP between songs, rather than load-the-next-song-but-paused.

Yes, I have the "Pause Between" pref checked, yet it doesn't seem to have any effect. As to the "secret" pref. . . thanks for that info, Dave. . . but where is it? Is it hidden or do I just need to search all the prefs for it? Thanks again.

I've noted also with Pro that "Pause Between Tracks" seems to have no effect - Of course, kJ is technically pausing between the tracks, as I've got it set to delay playing until song is unpacked, but once the song is fully buffered, away it plays with no pausing. How long is this pause supposed to be? Is it meant to require user input before resuming?

I suppose what I am looking for is a mode that will buffer the next song in rotation, then wait for user input to begin the song (to provide for bumper music, etc, and make the slowness that is my powerbook seem less evident - also it gives singers time to get to the mic!)

I'll look into the hidden pref and see if that works better for me.

it is supposed to work as you describe, pausing until you hit play again.

Further note on this - I got the "Pause between tracks" option to work properly, but so far only when the "Delay playing until sing is unpacked..." option is unchecked - so it looks like these prefs may be counteracting each other a bit. Talk to you soon!
