Assert Fail?

Post by Gary Reed »

I get this message when I try to open a song.
AssertFail:i_curplaylist->getcurplip(),infile:'/development/source/music/csongdatabase.cpp'atline3652

Thanks for your help, Gary... I LOVE K-JAMS

"open" a song? that could mean different things:

you did file->open (command-O which is actually "add to library")
you used arrow keys in the tracks list to hilite a song, then you pressed the space bar
you selected the song by clicking and then pressed the play button
you double clicked the song

how do i reproduce this? please make a short list of steps eg:

* run kjams
* double click a random song
--> assert fail

i just tried this and it works fine

I am not sure what I did but it was working fine, I guess it is just a learning curve issue on the user end

no, it's a bug.
it's not your fault.
but I can't fix it unless you can tell me how to make it happen.

it's like going to the doctor and saying "something is wrong". If that's all you tell the doctor, she won't be able to help you. The doc needs to know *exactly* what the problem is to make a diagnosis.

but if you say "i have a sharp pain in my right pinky when i bend it even slightly", then the doc will know to take an x-ray and perhaps put a splint on it so it can heal.
