Having problem opening new version

I just downloaded the latest version. When the program downloaded , Kjams closed but did not reopen like usual. I tried to open it using the Kjams icon and an error message say "You cannot open the application "Kjams" because it may be damaged or incomplete."

I downloaded the earlier version. Can i toss the one i was using in the trash? Also, i get an error message every other time i try to open the earlier version. It says; "quicktime error: afpaccessdenied, insufficient access priveleges for operation" Any suggestions?

The new new one works. Only problem is that before Kjams opens i get this message " Make sure you have write permission for the folder "/library/application support/kjams/". When i click "ok", Kjams opens and works fine. How can i get rid of this message?

umm, you can get rid of the message by making sure you have write permissions on that folder.

Okay, but how did write permissions become disabled in the first place?? How do i reverse it?

go to that folder, get info

under "sharing & permissions" click the little lock in lower right, enter your pw
if you are an administrator, set "admin" to "read & write", else set "everyone" to that
