Hi Fellow KJsand Dave,
I’ve been using kJams for over 15 years now for shows of 30-80 singers. Also I was a very early adopter of WTKjams and now kJams Cue.
I know Dave is working hard on the elusive “server crashes” - but having only just upgraded this week to 64bit, I was wondering if this is having any positive impact on the number of times you would typically crash during a show. With my 32bit I was getting at least 2 crashes per night. My shows are generally about 5 hours duration and the singers use the venues wifi to connect.
Has anyone tried using a Wireless Access Point of your own for serving up the wifi (rather than using the venues?)…and did it make any difference? (I’m thinking traffic on the network with people streaming music videos to check their song choice before submitting via Cue etc.). My crashes seem to happen when it’s busiest.
Do any of you use a “hostess” to enter singers request via kJams Cue rather than having all the singers with their own app? If so did this have any impact on your server crashes?
Cheers
Server Crashes
Re: Server Crashes
are you crashing more on 64bit?
can you send crash reports?
are you on mac?

Re: Server Crashes
Hey Dave,
My next big show will be April 18 (about 80 attending with maybe 20 singers, and about 20 using kJams Cue).
This will be my first show since the 64bit upgrade. I'm Mac and running it on Mac OS 15.7.4
I've only done some limited testing (wow! super fast and slick compared to 32bit).
I'll try and get crash reports to you if they occur. Could you just remind me how to do this please (it's been a while since I've sent one).
Cheers

Re: Server Crashes
okay so you WERE saying that you WERE crashing on 32bit, not 64bit, right?
if you're on mac, you can just copy the text of the crash report, and send it in an email
if you're on windows, there's currently no method
