When you are actively playing a track, and for whatever reason decide to change the version (possible reasons: corrupted CDG, wanting to standardize on a given company where possible, better version) it would be nice if you had the option of starting the alternate track at the same time position as the current track.
While I know it won't align 100%, most companies seem to standardize on 10 second lead silences, and keep the same tempo as the original, so it should be pretty close in practice. It would greatly facilitate simplifying History lists, for one thing.
Maybe ⌥ click to switch at current time, or bring up a dialogue (where currently the "Are you sure you want to interrupt the current song" dialogue comes up) that gives the user the option.
Simple.
Pretty please?

As an added benefit, if this data survived a crash, it would do much to aid in crash recovery!

Still hoping (given my recent resurgence of server (and AirPlay) crashes)!
