Hey guys,
just got new macbook and so not use external drive for karaoke files. Trying to "drag" old kjams folder over to new computer but not sure how to accomplish that? How does one drag the folder from one to the other? I have them connected via thunderbolt cable, thats as far as ive gotten
new macbook
Re: new macbook
the folder to look into, on BOTH machines, is "/Users/<you>/Music/..."
inside that folder should be the "kJams" folder
drag it from the old computer to the new computer, same location

Assuming your username on both machines is identical, of course.
And that your path to the tracks is fixed via the methods outlined in the tutorial.

Re: new macbook
if all your music is inside the "kJams" folder or on an external drive, then it won't matter if the user name is different

Re: new macbook
Since he is moving tracks from an external, I was assuming that they weren't in the kJams folder originally.
Re: new macbook
well, i guess we're making different assumptions, which indicates we don't actually have enough information. Simpmech: how you doin'? did it work?

Re: new macbook
I was assuming that just the files are on the external, partly because of his wording, and partly because running the OS off an external can be a pain the ass. So even if the kJams folder is on the external along with the files, the path to that folder as well as the files would still be wrong.
The answer to that dictates his course of action.
Without that info, we can't offer much advice (beyond covering the bases).
