sound choice gem series MP3G

Post by simpmech »

I'm having difficulty figuring out how to install these disc into Kjams. I get the message it needs to be reformatted, but I'm not quite sure if I even can since its from SC on their disc. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I will do the best I can to describe and give info. It might be easier to chat so you can see for yourself.
The disc is an MP3G from Sound Choice, their Gem series. More or less in DVD form I guess. It's their legal set up to file transfer. I am posting the pics of what I am talking about, let me know what else you need and I will provide if I can

you also neglected to tell me what you chose for your answer to the dialog where you must choose between "reference" and "move". I'm going to assume you picked "reference".

are you aware that if you try to "reference" songs on a disk, then remove the disk, that you've now removed the actual song files? do you understand what a reference is? it's like an index. it has the name and location on disk, but NOT the song itself, the song itself is on that disk. the one you ejected and put on the shelf.

the point is here you don't want to reference the songs, you want to move them. and, incidentally, you can't reference a song that's on a locked volume (one you can't write to), and you can't reference to a case-sensitive volume, as you've discovered, and you also can't reference to an NTFS formatted volume.

so if I understand you correctly, the disc is useless to me. Meaning, if I want to add it to Kjams, I cannot.

Back to the same question, when I "press the move button" this is the message I receive. If I somehow need to reformat like it says I have no idea if and how to accomplish this. I will continue to research and try on my own, your help is appreciated.

Oh, hmm. That seems like a bug. If kJams is saying that the SC disk itself is case sensitive, then it's a bug. It's not supposed to care about the source format. Sorry for the confusion. I'll investigate.

Update: fixed! please get the rogue.
