Ripping problem

Post by daveoz85 »

A few months ago I ripped a large amount of discs onto my Mac no problem at all, but recently I am having major problems ripping any songs from discs, with all ending up in the 'Songs not renamed' list.

I have tried to follow advice from the FAQs/Documentation but haven't got anywhere. All meta data appears to be there to me, I have also tried reinterpreting songs names but it hasn't done anything.

For each problem song the mp4 file shows as having a file size of zero bytes on my hard drive, I have no idea if that is connected but none of them will play.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dave

which advice, specifically?
All meta data appears to be there to me
You need Name, Artist and Album, all three, for it to work. And it must be REAL data, not "Untitled" or "Audio Track 1" etc.
I have also tried reinterpreting
reinterpret is only useful if you have meta data to start with.
the mp4 file shows as having a file size of zero bytes
oh! do this procedure
you will have to re-rip any song that was zero size.

Just what's here (https://karaoke.kjams.com/wiki/Songs_Not_Renamed) I've tried to check that no folders are locked and check for all meta data, and it's all there in its correct columns in the kjams library, it's all real data too.

OK I did that and re-ripped one of the discs, about half of the tracks have ripped correctly and the other half have the same problem as before with the zero-byte files. Curiously, they all seemed OK until I ejected the disc/began to rip another disc (I didn't check between ejecting and beginning the next one) and the 'Songs not renamed' playlist reappeared with the songs from the second disc being added, and their mp4 files have zero bytes. The songs from the first disc I ripped have NOT been added back into the 'not renamed' playlist however.

Slight Update: after doing the zero-byte-mp4 procedure again and trying to rip the second disc again, it hasn't worked, I'm getting zero-byte files.
