saving backups happens on quit, yes that's by design. give it the time it needs, i know it's slow.

are you saying that QT 7.7.9 does NOT work? and that kJams requires only exactly QT 7.0?

hmm, this seems to be a QtCore issue. I'll be updating Qt to a new version by december, and this problem is likely to go away.

yes, there's no way to ask the OS if it has been granted, at least no public API without a hack. so just check the "don't ask me again" checkbox
