Hi all
My music stores- one didn't have the new songs I needed, the other wouldn't load anything. I did follow the instructions to reload.
Anyway, I checked the wiki for other sites and bought a bunch of stuff from Buykaraokedownloads.com
I downloaded 4 songs of the many purchased to see how it worked. They wil play only occasionally and seems to have no rythme or reason. I put one on the desktop, one in a file, one in kjams. I can try playing the cdg over and over, sometimes it plays sometimes not. I contacted them, and they told me to contact you. I am desperate.
I am running snow leopard with the newest kjams pro.
Please help me before I throw my computer out the window!
Thanks,
Laura

Re: Buykaraokedownloads.com
you need to store the song in a permanent location before you ever even tell kJams about it with "Add to Library".
you can NOT store it in the downloads folder, or on the desktop, or even in the "kJams Music" folder.
please read up on that:
http://karaoke.kjams.com/wiki/KJams_Music_Folder
And do you get it that kJams will reference the file right where it is? that it DOES NOT COPY the song? so if you put it on your desktop, then add it to kJams, then delete the file from your desktop, you've just deleted the one and only copy of the song?
This gets more confusing because when you play the song, kJams makes a TEMPORARY copy in the cache. this cache may still live after you've emptied your trash, leading you to think all is well. but then the cache will disappear, and you're like, where did my song go?
does this make sense?

Re: Buykaraokedownloads.com
Thanks, makes sense. In otherwords, I save as to a file on my Mac. Never move it.
Then, can it be added to the Kjams Library, as long as it is not renamed or moved ? Drag it in, copy it, or what?
Can I delete the 2 other non +G items they included in the download?
Thanks so much for your help.

More like, save it to your mac, and move it ONCE to it's permanent location. best to put all karaoke files into a folder in the kJams folder (not the "kJams Music" folder). then add it to the library, THEN never move it again.I save as to a file on my Mac. Never move it.

you already copied it (from the internet). so yes, drag the file on to kJams (or go File->Add to Library), and kJams will REFERENCE it where it is.Drag it in, copy it, or what?
what other 2 non +G items?? if you're talking about MP3, well, if you delete that you won't have any audio. if you're talking about xml, if you delete that you're deleting the meta data for that song (which you do NOT want to do)Can I delete the 2 other non +G items they included in the download?
