Dave
Yeah I tried your suggestions and they were fine. My dilemma is how to add something quickly then get back to where I was in my original playlist whilst singing , playing an instrument and generally entertaining. In other words I want to keep it as slick as possible, hence the proposed use of a foot pedal.

I'm sure it is a case of practice makes perfect.

The silence at the end of tracks is a nuisance but I can always click forward to the next track without waiting for the currrent one to halt.

Thanks for all your help

How about having a second playlist?

Click on it, select the track you want from it, when that track has ended go back to your original playlist and continue.

Hi CC

That's pretty much what I've done in the past on minidisc and iPod. Is it possible to see 2 playlists at a time a la PcDj?
What I have done on minidisc and iPod is to have 3 x 30" playlists and 2 x 45" playlists as stock material plus a number of genre playlists so I can find lively songs, slow ballads etc. I've also thought about using, in addition, an alphabetical master playlist as per itunes which is in fact the whole library. The ability to play Karaoke tracks will hugely increase the number of potential tracks I could use (All those half remembered lyrics that aren't worth learning for a "once in a blue moon" request) I think the ability to pitch shift might also bring a few more songs into the frame (probably Beatles) where there are one or two tricky notes in an otherwise "singable" song.

I don't think so. However if Dave reads this I have no doubt that he will add it to his ever growing list of nice to have features that he will get to one day.

:D

I have never met Dave. I would like to one day. I wonder if he is a young man? He will need to be if he is ever going to make his fortune from kJams with demanding Scots and awkward Cats on his case all the time.

I have in fact already got on my list of "to do" some very super excellent things for playlist and show managemet. I'd like to talk to you Ocheye to get a better idea of what you mean because it's not completely clear to me.

I will have a "playlist bounce" feature which lets you bounce back and forth between different playlists and/or rotation. you could use it eg: for filler music between singers, either automatically or the touch of a button or midi pedal it would fade to the other playlist, picking up where it left off (even in the middle of the song. Is this the kind of thing you mean?

I'm thirty something. I have at least a 10 year plan for kJams. <scottish>Meyow</scottish>
