Why is it that some song lyrics do not highlight at the rate the music is going?

when you say "rate" do you mean it gets progressively worse, or that they're all off by a fixed duration?

if the former, then perhaps the song was poorly encoded by the creator.

if the latter, you can fix it with Sync Slipping
