Just talk about kJams stuff with each other, describe things you did that worked, talk about your setup, anything that doesn't fit into the other forums!

Help with Karaoke Contest

Post by aforker »

I am trying to run a karaoke contest on my site http://www.karaokemachine.org. But I was wondering if I could get some feedback from users here.

Please take a look at my contest details on my site (listed above). Then, if you wouldn't mind letting me know what you think, with maybe some answers to the following:

- Is this the kind of thing you would participate in?
- Is the prize interesting enough? What would really entice people? What would you want to win?
- Do you think the contest feels legitimate? Is there something I could do to make it seem more "trust worthy"? (site changes, submission process, etc)
- Are people more likely to already have videos uploaded on YouTube (and therefore I could safely ask for a link instead of a file)?
- If you won the $50 gift card, what are you likely spend it on?

I really appreciate the feedback. One of the reasons for me starting this contest is so that I can really reach out to the karaoke community rather than just being a "business that sells", you know? I think with the growth of social media, people are in a way reverting back to wanting to have a more intimate connection with the businesses they work with.

Also, if you see anything on the site you would change, or would like to see more of, let me know.

I totally appreciate all your replies! My email should be visible on my profile, too, so if you want to shoot me a line, I'm open to comments. :)

Thanks!
