song search not working right

For some reason the song search function is not following my typing strokes in real time. In other words, I have to type the whole song title, then press Enter to find a song in the library. Used to be I just had to type the first few letters and it would automatically jump to the nearest matches. Is there something I need to activate in Preferences?

but you CAN turn it back on if you must, tho i just don't support it: hold option when you bring up the preferences and the option is in advanced prefs
