Purchased Songs Video is "Black" after move...

Post by Scott Parr »

Hi Everyone,

I had my kJams folder on a 500GB external drive. [The audio was encoded with] QuickTime [Lossless] format and so 6200+ songs came to about 240GB. I used the LAME mp3 converter and got the collection down to under 60GB. Because of this, I dragged my kJams folder back to my MacBook Pro's "music" folder.

Everything works great except for the Stingray songs I bought at the Karaoke Store on kJams.

The songs play audio but the video is black. Looking in my music folder, all the ".zip" files are there but no ".xml" folders for these songs.

Or, is there something I need to do because I bought these songs and then moved them?

Other songs that I've bought seemed mostly fine. Today, I bought some songs. The CDG zips worked great. The M4Vs did not. I had to delete the songs from my library, drag the file out of my kJams music folder to my desktop, drag the song from the desktop to kJams (adding the song), then dragging the file from the desktop back to it's place in my kJams music folder.

All I have are zips for the songs that are not showing any video.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
- Scott

EDIT...
Discovered, these are songs I bought at Karaoke Channel. I have them still in my Digital Locker. I'm deleting the bad songs in my library and importing the new songs that I'm re-downloading. It's working fine.

What did I do wrong in the first place?

if you converted m4v files then that would strip out the video, i think, i'll look into this.

Update: yep that was the culprit. i've put in a thing that skips over non-audio+g files (and sends you a growl, if you have that installed)
