Super CDG Ripping Problems
Re: Super CDG Ripping Problems
Thanks for the wiki, just ripped the first volume... worked perfectly. Plays just fine, too. It was pretty cool to watch my collection double with one rip session!

Re: Super CDG Ripping Problems
Just a note - the Chartbusters Essentials SCDGs are actually what brought me to kJams. Two nights before a show, I fried my CAVS player, and I already had the full e1-e6 CB collection, as well as the full NuTech 3000+ song SCGD collection. I didn't want to suffer along without 5000+ songs available, so I looked for other methods - and kJams was the easiest best solution I had. I didn't have any major problem ripping my SCDGs, even the 1000 song NuTech ones (although I was on an old G4 Powerbook at the time, and I might take that back - I may have had to rip one of the big scdg's twice.)
Further, a recommendation: For someone starting out, who doesn't already have a huge library of karaoke, I really, really recommend buying the Chartbusters SCDGs. They will give you a solid foundation to build on, and you can find them cheap, either on eBay (not sure about the legalities) or often at your local karaoke store, often on clearance, as nobody wants to put up with CAVS issues or stock SCDGs. For a few hundred dollars or less, you could easily end up with a collection that will serve you better than some who have spent thousands on music. After you get this foundation, then you can buy through TriceraSoft, or the SoundChoice store, or any of several other digital download karaoke sellers. I wouldn't recommend buying the NuTech series, because they aren't that good, BUT - if you want a huge library for cheap, and 3500 songs for $100 or less sounds like a good deal, then go for it! While we are at it, another good cheap collection you can find on eBay is the full Sweet Georgia Brown collection on CDG - 68? disks for under $100. SGB isn't in business any more, so this is probably the only way to get them, unless your karaoke store still has old stock.
